Our colleagues Iris Orosia Campos Bandrés and Daniel Laliena Cantero from the University of Zaragoza recently completed a secondment at the University of Thessaly, focusing on collaborative research and scientific publishing.

During the secondment, the team completed and submitted the University of Zaragoza’s contribution to the forthcoming LocalLing monograph Global Perspectives on Local & Heritage Languages: Policies, Practices & Linguistic Justice. The chapter explores the linguistic situation in Spain, with particular emphasis on the Aragonese language, and was further refined through collaborative discussions and peer review with colleagues across the consortium.

The secondment also advanced a second collaborative publication on Aragonese children’s and young adult literature, strengthened scientific exchange on language policy, multilingualism and language revitalisation and supported preparations for future researcher exchanges and collaborative research initiatives. Together, these activities further reinforced the LocalLing network and its shared commitment to preserving and promoting Local Heritage Languages.
