Kpatcha ATIPATE

Kpatcha Atipate was born on December 31, 1982, in Oualé/Sotouboua, Togo. He currently serves as Director of the National Library and Archives, where he is responsible for the organization, preservation, management, and dissemination of documentary and archival information.

A documental engineer and curator of archives and documents, he holds a Master’s degree in Documentary Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Heritage Preservation and Enhancement, and a Bachelor’s degree in English.

His professional experience includes activities in supervision, expertise and consulting, professional training, the organization of exhibitions and artistic projects, collaborations and networking across sub-Saharan Africa, as well as evaluation work on committees and contributions in scientific and museum expertise.

He is also active in higher education, teaching Museology in the Master’s program in Information Science and Documentation (ISD) at the University of Lomé. In addition, he teaches Enhancement of archives and documents, Management of documentary establishments, and Marketing in documentation at the Regional Institute for Higher Education and Research in Cultural Development (IRES-RDEC) in Lomé, Togo. At ISG BAKPESSI in Lomé, he teaches Organization and management of archive services to students in the Advanced Vocational Training Certificate programme.


Mayabina SONDOU

Mayabina Sondou is responsible for the management of the Togolese State Archives, where he oversees institutional operations and supports scholars in their scientific research activities related to archival collections. His work includes facilitating access to historical materials and contributing to the development of research programs, particularly in collaboration with students and academic communities.

He completed his secondary education with a scientific baccalaureate (Series D), followed by a Higher National Diploma (DTS) in Civil Engineering from the Private University ISMAD of Kara. He then continued in the Department of History and Geography at the University of Kara.

Following a national public service recruitment in Togo, he was appointed as a documentation archivist at the Directorate of the National Library and Archives. With 17 years of professional experience, he has benefited from various training programs and professional development internships.

In his current role, he coordinates research-oriented initiatives and fosters collaboration with public and private institutions in Togo and internationally, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the nation’s documentary heritage.


Messan TOSSA

Messan Tossa is Research Assistant at the National Archives of Togo. After completing higher education at the University of Lomé, where he defended his doctoral thesis in German studies in 2014, Messan Tossa also works as an honorary lecturer at the University of Lomé. Invited researcher at numerous European research institutions, he also collaborates with German cultural institutions on provenance and exhibition research projects from a decolonial perspective.
