Germana Carolina Soler MILLÁN

Germana Carolina Soler Millán, PhD, is Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Caldas (2023–2027), where she has been a full-time professor since 2010. She holds a PhD in Language Sciences from Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3. She also holds two master’s degrees from France (Sociolinguistics and Didactics; Languages ​​and Literature) and has studied at Purdue University (USA). She has led institutional processes as Director of the Modern Languages ​​Program (2019–2023) and as a representative on governing bodies. Her publications include the books: Sociolinguistique et interculturalité en Colombie (2023) and L’interculturalité, source de la dynamique du FLE? : Le cas colombien (Editorial L’Harmattan, 2020). She has also published articles in indexed international journals such as: Le Langage et l’Homme, French literature in the service of micro-processes of peace in Colombia: An approach through argumentation and emotional intelligence – 2025, Simultaneous teaching of a foreign language and a native minority language through serious video game: a revitalization perspective – 2025, Unilingualism and Unibilingualism in Colombia – 2023, and Sociolinguistique et Interculturalité en Colombie – 2023. She has been a keynote speaker and representative of Colombia at international events, including the UN in New York, MIT, and other institutions in countries such as the United States, the Czech Republic, Canada, the UK, and France, among others. She recently received the PREFALC grant, solidifying her position as an international authority.


Guillaume ROUX

Guillaume Roux is a French linguist and writer, currently a professor in the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Caldas.
He holds a PhD in Language Sciences from Paul Valéry University in Montpellier. His research in linguistics focuses on discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, the acquisition of French as a mother tongue and second language, prosody and phonology, the history of ideas about language, and, more recently, emotional intelligence, AI, and serious video games.
Guillaume recently published two books on linguistics, “Les premiers mots de l’enfant. Past and Present Representations“ and ”When Can We Say That a Child Can Speak?“ published by Lambert-Lucas (2023), and a work on sociolinguistics in collaboration with Germana Carolina Soler Millán, ”Sociolinguistics and Interculturality in Colombia,” published by L’Harmattan (2023). He has also published in major journals such as Applied Linguistics, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, and Language Teaching Research. 

In his literary work, he seeks to explore certain current issues in psychology and human relations, as well as different forms of narration and genre blending, and questions the notion of “literary modernity.” His publications include four novels, “Le cri du silence” published by La P’tite Hélène (2018), “L’indésir” published by Edilivre (2020), ‘Rédemption’ published by Abatos (2021), “Variations”, published by Ô’Plaisir Éditions (2025), a book of poems “Poèmes du quotidien” published by “Les Bonnes Feuilles” (2025), two plays, “Les Nouveaux Beaufs ou les Tartuffes Modernes” published by L’Harmattan (2023), and “Ce que tu ne dis pas”, published by L’Harmattan (2025).
