Gratien G. ATINDOGBÉ

Gratien G. Atindogbé is a Linguistics and African Languages Professor at the University of Buea, Cameroon. He obtained a PhD in African Linguistics from the University of Bayreuth, Germany. Besides phonology, his speciality, he teaches language planning, sociolinguistics, research methodology, and language acquisition courses.

His research interests cover descriptive linguistics, documentation of endangered languages, historical linguistics (Bantu), tonology, Cameroon Pidgin English, Intercultural Communication, French Sociolinguistics and Cameroon Sign Language (CSL). He was the project leader in the documentation of two endangered languages of Cameroon funded by the Volkswagen Foundation, and presently a key member of the project KPAAM-CAM (Key multidisciplinary advances in African multilingualism, Cameroon) initiated by Jeff Good and Pier Paolo Di Carlo and funded by United States National Science Foundation (NSF). He is an alumnus of renowned grant donors in Germany. Gratien has many scientific publications and reviews many academic journals.


Ivo Forghema NJUASI

Njuasi Ivo Forghema is of the Department of Linguistics, University of Buea, Cameroon, where he is head of service for teaching and research. He is also an instructor in UNICAF. He holds academic and professional qualifications (Ph.D, M.A., P.G.D.E. TEFL, and BA) from Cameroon, Nigeria, and Mexico.

His theoretical and practical interests in teaching and research span several areas, including Phonology, Phonetics, Terminology, Dialectology, English Language Learning, Educational Management, Educational Policy, Research Methodology, Sociophonetics, Documentary Linguistics, and Language Endangerment. 


Michael E. APUGE

Michael E. Apuge holds a PhD in African Linguistics from the University of Buea (UB) in Cameroon. He was recruited in UB in 2000, but he was later appointed and redeployed to the University of Maroua (UMa) in 2009 as   Chair of the Department of Bilingual Letters in the Higher Teacher-Training College of the University of Maroua (Uma). He was head of the research team in the department and president of Language and Literature Section of the Doctorate School in UMa for several years. Since 2023, he is the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in the University of Buea.

He has a published book to his credit, co-authored two others, and has many scientific publications in national and international journals. He is a member of reputable scientific organizations. His research interests include: Syntactic Theory, language documentation, Phonetics, Sociolinguistics and ESL/EFL Pedagogy. He is a member of the LocalLing Project aimed at revitalizing minoritized heritage languages, coordinated by Tallinn University of Estonia.
